Supporter Morning Tea
June 29, 2010

Our supporters braved a very cold, wet and blustery day to attend our June Morning Tea.
But ... it was worth it. Dr Stacey George, Manager - Ambulatory Rehabilitation & Research Therapist with Rehabilitation, Aged & Allied Health and a Foundation Daw Park Grant Recipient, gave a talk in relation to her pilot study into managing the 'return to driving process after stroke'. The hope is that stroke victims can be rehabilitated in order to return to self reliance through driving in a safe manner.
FDP Chairman, Bob Willis then introduced Moose Dunlop OAM, President, Royal Australian Regiment Assoc (SA) and Deputy Chairman, Veterans' Council (SA). His subject was the "Trojan's Trek" Program which aids in the recovery of veterans from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Mark Townsend, a participant in the program, accompanied him. Mark gave a very insightful and inspiring talk regarding his personal journey and experience and the many benefits he has gained from being part of the Trojan’s Trek program.
Thank you to our guest speakers and also thank you to our sponsors, ScooterWorld - without their continuing support, we would not be able to put on these important events for our key supporters.
