Willing Giving
Have you ever considered how wonderful it would be if there were cures for conditions like Prostate Cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and Arthritis? Or do you know someone who has wished for a revolutionary joint replacement that will get them moving, or just regular refreshing sleep?
Wishes like this can come true if there is the will to make it happen. For some, the will to give is possible through making a Will. Precise statements in your Will provide clear instructions on your wishes regarding your family, friends and organisations you may wish to support.
Foundation Daw Park Inc
Foundation Daw Park was established in 1993 to support medical research. A registered charity, the Foundation is based at Repatriation General Hospital, Daw Park and funds medical research and special projects at the hospital.
The hospital’s reputation of providing high quality care and its unique, “warm” culture and beautiful gardens are seeing the hospital’s services increasingly sought by older community patients.
Repatriation General Hospital has a proud reputation for research which has emanated from the need to provide health solutions for our veterans (past and present), and the older people in our community. Areas of excellence include:
- Alzheimer’s Disease
- Cardiology
- Prostate Cancer
- Vascular Disease
- Rehabilitation
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Urology
- Colon Cancer
- Respiratory Disease
- Sleeping Disorders
You may make a request in your Will that your legacy be used as determined by the Foundation Board or be dedicated to a particular area of research.
Bequests
A bequest is a direction through your Will that a gift from your estate is made to a person, or an organisation. Your solicitor or trustee company will explain how to leave a bequest to Foundation Daw Park Inc.
Making a Bequest
- A residue gift - after providing for your family’s needs you may leave a specific portion / percentage of the remainder of your estate to the Foundation.
- A bequest of money - this is a direction in your Will that the Foundation receives a specific amount of money from your estate.
- A bequest of property - this is a direction in your Will that specified property such as real estate, shares, works of art, jewellery etc, be transferred to the Foundation from your estate.
It is wise to consult your Solicitor or Trustee Company when planning your Will.
